WOMEN EMPOWERMENT IN INDIA AND MISSION HEAL

Women empowerment by Mission Heal focuses on giving them the power to help them get knowledge of their rights and not to fall victim to any form of harassment including sexual and physical abuse. The empowerment is also designed to help the women get the power to make them independent persons in the society and communities they are living in.
The women’s empowerment strategies are also designed to help the Indian women exercise control over their actions without relying on the consent of the marriage or male figures in their lives. Unfortunately, since independence, the Indian government has been actively involved in the fight for women’s rights and every now and then running sensitization programs to help the women and make them empowered individuals with equal opportunities as the men. Unfortunately, this has also been one of the highly politicized issues across the country and vote hunting schemes which never gets to see the right of day. While it is true, there has been much development and achievements realized over the years, there still remains quite a lot to be achieved on the ground.

How Mission Heal Works
The government, with full realization that it cannot win the battle alone, works in collaboration with reputable organizations such as Mission HealWomen empowerment in India engages every individual and organization. There have been endless and enough boardroom meetings to discuss the ways forward in cutting short the life of the malice. A lot has been done on the ground regarding the same. While most of the endeavors have been successful, there are those that have failed, such as the ones led by nongovernmental organizations that are profit oriented.

Mission Heal sets themselves apart from other nongovernmental organizations fighting for the empowerment of the women in a number of ways. To start with, their empowerment strategies are not profit oriented. In fact, to stay afloat, the organization is dependent on donations from well wishers as well as government agency for funding. Statistics show that women make up 52% of the entire population in India. Besides the country having some high ranking government officials as women, back in the slum and remote villages, there are women who cannot afford to feed themselves and whose voices goes unheard. Such are the women that Mission heal is dedicated to helping and empowering.

To get the women empowered, mission heal implements a number of strategies, including equipping the women with income generating skills. Being self reliant is one of the most effective ways of making the local women empowered. With the marketable skills, the women will be able to put a decent meal on the table for the family, afford proper clothing, medical facilities among many more essentials which they are in need of.

The organization also helps the women by providing them with a platform where they can be heard and where they are allowed to weigh in their thoughts and judgment on certain matters affecting the communities they live in. Despite there being some helpless  women in the country, the steps made in to empower them call for applauds.
